So you’re on AT&T, you’ve got an upgrade coming up sometime over the next couple of months and while you like some of the phones already out there, you really wanna know what AT&T’s got coming out during the next few weeks or months so you don’t go out and buy something only to really regret it a week later. While not all of these are confirmed to be coming to AT&T (some are just our best guesses based on rumors we’ve been hearing), here are 5 phones that are said to be on their way to AT&T and that any AT&T user with an upgrade should be really excited for.

Samsung Infuse 4G

This was the 3rd of AT&T’s big CES 4G phone blitz, but unlike the Motorola Atrix 4G and HTC Inspire 4G, info on this beast has been remarkably quiet. In fact when we were at CTIA a few weeks back Samsung wasn’t even allowing anyone to check out the Infuse, instead keeping it behind glass. The good news is that it shouldn’t be long for this to be released as AT&T and Samsung have said this should be out in the “second quarter of 2011″ (which, seeing as that goes from April-June, we’re in now), and as the old saying goes, “good things come to those who wait.” With specs like a massive 4.5 inch Super AMOLED screen (basically its awesome), 1.2 GHZ processor, Android 2.2 (though who knows, maybe we’ll see it with the latest Android 2.3 Gingerbread by the time this actually hits shelves– let’s hope!), 8 megapixel back camera with HD video recording on the back and a second 1.3 megapixel one on the front for video chat, and a ridiculously thin design (just look at the pic above!) AT&T is looking to add yet another awesome phone to their 4G lineup.

LG Thrill 4G

We played with this equally incredible Android beast at CTIA last month and to say we were impressed would be a crazy understatement. Fast, sleek and glasses-free 3D with a 3D camera (AND an easy way to get all kinds of 3D games and movies)!?! Yeah, between this and the Infuse 4G AT&T is definitely going all out with awesome Android 4G phones.

We still don’t have an exact launch date on this from AT&T or LG, but if we had to guess we should see this by the Summer at the latest (let’s hope it’s even sooner!).

BlackBerry Bold Touch

blackberry bold touch rumor

Ah yes, the BlackBerry Bold Touch. If we had to guess where the first place this incredible new BlackBerry would land we’d put our money on AT&T. Not only was AT&T the first to launch the first two Bolds (the original Bold 9000 and then later the Bold 9700) and the Torch, but a quick look at AT&T’s current BlackBerry page shows that they’ve got to have something big planned for very soon (I mean seriously– the most recent Bold 9700 isn’t even listed as available anymore). Yeah, AT&T needs some awesome new BlackBerrys fast.

Thankfully with RIM’s big BlackBerry World event only a few weeks away (May 3rd is the big day for all you BlackBerry fans) this should all be fixed soon, and if the latest leaked specs are true then anyone looking for an amazing new BlackBerry will not be disappointed. It took RIM long enough but this new Bold Touch looks to finally bring 2011 (or at least close to 2011) specs to a BlackBerry with features like a 5 megapixel camera with HD video recording, 1.2 GHZ processor with 768 MB (like those found on other modern smartphones like the HTC ThunderBolt– this should make for excellent speed no matter what you’re doing), AT&T 3G (though technically it supports the 3G that AT&T calls “4G”– speeds of up to 14.4 Mbps or the same as what the Inspire 4G and Atrix 4G get– so this may actually be a “4G” BlackBerry), 8 GB of built-in storage (with support for an additional 32 GB through microSD), the latest BlackBerry 6.1 OS, and of course that 2.8 inch high-res (640×480 resolution or really nice and sharp for a screen of this size) touchscreen with a full BlackBerry keyboard underneath.

Yeah, if you’re looking for a new AT&T BlackBerry it’s definitely worth waiting for this– we know we can’t wait until BlackBerry World to see this hopefully finally become official!

BlackBerry Torch 2

So this is for all those who want a BlackBerry but love the Torch’s design and much bigger screen. As we wrote in our review last year, we found the first Torch to be incredibly underpowered– something this new Torch, like the new Bold Touch, looks to fix in a big way. While design wise it looks to be pretty similar to the first Torch, under the hood this is a whole new animal. Specs wise it looks to be pretty much identical to the Bold Touch we mentioned above, though again, that’s a major compliment (particularly compared to that first Torch). We also expect more info on this as well at BlackBerry World next month, so stay tuned.

Apple iPhone 5

We can’t be writing about new AT&T phones for the summer without any mention of a new iPhone right? Well, unfortunately the rumors on the iPhone 5 are right now all over the place. One “report” says it’ll be coming in June. Another says it’ll be in September. Another says Apple will wait until next year– if you can’t tell already these rumors (like all Apple rumors) are getting pretty ridiculous. And that’s just on what the launch month will be.

When it comes to what we can actually expect inside the iPhone 5 the rumors are equally crazy: some say it will have 4G LTE (AT&T plans to launch a 4G LTE network this summer just like the one Verizon has already launched late last year. We kinda think of this right now as wishful thinking but if you’re AT&T what better way to show off your new blazing fast 4G network than with a new iPhone); others say it will be 3G and look like the iPhone 4 just with a larger 4 inch screen while others say it will have a completely new design without a home button and with a metal back. Heck some say it will fly, teach you math, write your papers and improve your jump shot (ok, that last one we kinda made up but you get the point).

But seeing as for the past 4 years Apple has released a new iPhone in the summer we had to at least mention that a new one may or may not be coming this June (though again, based on everything being said we’d have to guess right now that it’ll probably come this fall).

Wrap Up

So there you have it– some very hot upcoming phones that should be coming to an AT&T store near you in the next few weeks and months. Of course we’re sure AT&T has a whole lot more planned up its sleeve (it is after all launching that all new powerful 4G LTE network this summer) and we’ll of course keep you updated on whatever awesome new news they announce. But we gotta ask: any of these new phones for you or do you just plan to wait until the iPhone 5 comes out whenever that is before you make a decision? Let us know in the comments.
