LG Versa Out Today for Verizon!
Mar 2nd

Well, it looks like all the rumors we wrote about for the launch of LG”s all new, customizable Versa were spot on. Today LG and Verizon released the Versa right on schedule, for the price we already knew of $199.99.
To recap, what makes this phone so cool is the fact that you can pretty much customize a phone very similar to the popular all touchscreen LG Dare, to be whatever type of phone you want. Want to add a game pad? WiFi? Just buy the add on and pop it in. They even throw in a keyboard to attach if you want it.
The one possible down side to all these add ons is that you need to remove the battery cover in order to add them on, and some of them — like the keyboard — add some size and thickness to the phone which may not be for everyone. Regardless, from all the early reviews we’ve seen online, this phone really looks to keep up to the title we gave it when we first wrote about it– the coolest phone ever!
You can get the LG Versa in Verizon Stores and Verizon’s site (here).
For a full review of the specs, hit the more link, but before you do that, we gotta ask… is this a phone you’re gonna get, and if you do, feel free to post your thoughts on it as a comment on this post, or would you rather go for a phone like the LG Dare (a cheaper version of a phone very similar to the Versa, just without the ability to add different types of add ons), or a phone like the LG Voyager where the keyboard and touchscreen are both already built in. Let us know in the comments.

New Music Phone for T-Mobile to Brag About (finally!)
Jun 27th

Motorola Rokr E8
Wow, this summer is really the season for new, innovative, and often touchscreen, cell phones– iPhone 3G, LG Vu and Dare, Samsung Instinct… the list can go on (and can be read about here). However, one particular carrier is noticeably absent from that prestigious list: T-Mobile. Not to fear, though, the Motorola Rokr E8 is here– well on July 7 it will be, according to Cnet’s blog Crave– and its generating a lot of excitement; it already won top awards at the Consumer Electronics Show this year, including the People’s Voice award and best upcoming cell phone product (discussed by us earlier). But this phone is very different from the previous models we’ve discussed in the past for this summer…ITS NOT A TOUCHSCREEN! Yes, you heard me. Rather, this phone attempts to become the ultimate Music player Cell phone, or what we call the Mp3 phone for the sake of conciseness. Ever. Hit the more link for details!!

Touchscreen Cell Phones
Jun 9th
Here is one of the big trends in Cell Phones right now- touchscreens. We all know of one of the bigger leaders in this group- AT&T with the LG Vu (that we covered here), and Apple’s iPhone (the new 3G model coming July 11; we will hope to have al the info on that covered for you tomorrow)- but what about Verizon, Sprint and T-Mobile, do they get in on this touchscreen madness? The answer to that is yes, and we got some info for you on some of the current and future touchscreen phones for all these groups.

LG Vu and Apple iPhone (not 3G) for AT&T
LG Vu out today for ATT
May 4th
Well taking a break from our zzzPhone reviews, here is something new for ATT- the LG Vu. Believe it or not this is an iPhone competitor on ATT’s own network as this phone is designed exactly like the iPhone in that it is pretty much all touch screen. I actually was able to see the phone in person and have to say it is very small, shiny and light, but still has a 3 inch touchscreen, 2 megapixel camera with video recording, music player, full internet browser, ATT Video Share, 3G (which the iPhone is missing), as well as the big feature- ability to watch live TV on ATT’s new Mobile TV service. Channels on this new Mobile TV service include ESPN, ABC, NBC, CBS, FOX, CNN, and an ATT exclusive PIX movie channel, along with a few other channels. The Vu also got a higher rating than the iPhone from the editors at Cnet.com, coming in with an 8.3 rating compared to the iPhone’s 8.0.

LG Vu and iPhone
There will be 2 versions of the phone available- one with the TV and one without. Only the TV one came out today, and it costs $300 with the $100 mail in rebate, and if you want the TV service, that will add in an extra $15 a month in most cases. You can get the phone from your local ATT store or ATT’s mobile website.
Btw all you Verzion users- don’t worry you’ll supposedly have a similar phone in the LG Dare (all touchscreen with 3G, 3.2 megapixel camera, Mp3 player) this summer.
