AT&T Goes BlackBerry Crazy: Bold 9900, Torch 4G 9810 and Torch 9860 All Coming To AT&T Later This Year
Well it’s about time. Remember that Torch 4G 9810 that leaked on AT&T’s site earlier this morning? Well, it’s now officially official and it’s just one of three 4G BlackBerrys AT&T is planning on launching over the rest of the year (spoiler: the Bold Touch 9900 is one of them!).
So what are you waiting for? Read on!
The first of these three new BlackBerrys is that Torch 4G 9810, which will be out sometime this month and pack all the features we expected: 1.2 GHZ processor with 768 MB of RAM (so everything is fast and without lag), BlackBerry 7 OS, higher resolution 3.2 inch touchscreen (which looks to be a big improvement over the original Torch and should have everything you view on it looking nice and sharp), 5 megapixel back camera with 720p HD video recording (there is no front camera), 8 GB of built-in storage and support for AT&T’s 4G HSPA+ network. All in all, this is a pretty solid upgrade over the original Torch, and if you’re on AT&T and want a new BlackBerry before you go back to school we recommend waiting for this.
We still don’t have an exact price or release date, but again, it will be out this month.
The Torch 4G isn’t the only big new BlackBerry coming to AT&T this year– today AT&T finally confirmed that later this year that the long-awaited 4G Bold 9900 (aka the Bold Touch!) will be coming to AT&T’s network as well. This looks to be one of the best BlackBerry’s yet, and while AT&T and RIM wouldn’t give any more information about an exact price or release date beyond that it will be coming “later this year,” let’s hope it gets here as soon as possible.
For the full recap on what’s so great about the Bold 9900, see our previous post here.
Last but not least AT&T also announced today that they will be launching a new, all touchscreen 4G Torch later this year called the Torch 9860. The Torch 9860 is pretty much the same as the Torch 4G 9810 above, just instead of having a slide-out keyboard it’s got a larger, sharper 3.7 inch touchscreen. The Torch 9860, like the Bold 9900, will be coming later this year for a price still to be announced.
So AT&T BlackBerry users– which new BlackBerry do you want?
