Sprint Joins The New BlackBerry Fun: Bold 9930 and Torch 9850 Also Coming to Sprint Later This Year
Following AT&T’s kickoff announcement earlier today of new BlackBerrys coming to their network this year, Sprint has decided to join in the new BlackBerry fun as well. That’s right, new BlackBerrys are also coming to Sprint later this year– or to be more specific, the Bold 9930 (aka Bold Touch) and Torch 9850 (the Sprint version of the all touchscreen Torch 9860) are on their ways to Sprint.
The specs of both the Bold 9930 and Torch 9860 are pretty much the same as the AT&T versions. Both have 1.2 GHZ processors with 768 MB of RAM (for speed), 5 megapixel back cameras with the ability to take 720p HD video (neither have front cameras for video chat), run the latest and greatest BlackBerry 7 OS, and both have support for Sprint’s 3G network (sorry, no 4G here. On the bright side they both have SIM card slots for use whenever you take that semester abroad). The main differences between the Bold 9930 and Torch 9850 are that the Bold Touch has a 2.8 inch touchscreen with full BlackBerry keyboard underneath (and support for NFC, or the ability to use your phone as your credit card), while the Torch replaces that bottom keyboard for an all touchscreen design with a much larger 3.7 inch screen.
Like AT&T, Sprint sadly hasn’t said anything about price or an exact release, instead saying those details will be announced “closer to availability.”
So, Sprint BlackBerry users, which new BlackBerry are you gonna get?
