iPhone 5C Pre-Order: All The Details
The iPhone 5C goes on pre-order tonight at around 3:01 AM Eastern Time (or 12:01 AM for those on the West Coast). All the major carriers will sell the iPhone 5C and all will be taking pre-orders starting tonight. If you’ve been waiting for the 5C here are all the details on where you can pre-order one of the newest iPhones.
AT&T— AT&T will be charging $99.99 for the 16 GB and $199.99 for the 32 GB 5C with a new 2 year contract. AT&T will also be offering the 16 GB 5C for free with monthly payments of $22 a month for 20 months if you want to do their AT&T Next program (which lets you pay down the phone with monthly payments). As The Verge explains though, unlike T-Mobile’s JUMP! program, with AT&T Next you’re still paying AT&T in your monthly bill a device subsidy (the fee you pay each month when you get a phone with a regular 2 year contract at a discounted price like in this case $99.99 instead of the $549 it costs for the 16 GB unlocked). While free upfront seems like a good deal you’re probably best off buying it for the $100 it costs with a regular 2 year contract. You can pre-order the iPhone 5C from AT&T’s site here.
T-Mobile— T-Mobile will be selling the iPhone 5C for $0 down and 24 monthly payments of $22. Unlocked the 5C will cost $549 for the 16 GB version so this is a pretty solid deal if you’re looking for the 5C on T-Mobile. By comparison T-Mobile announced that the 16 GB iPhone 5S will be $99 down with 24 monthly payments of $23 (down from $649 unlocked). You can pre-order the T-Mobile iPhone 5C from here.
Verizon— Verizon is keeping things fairly simple. The 5C will be $99.99 for the 16 GB or $199.99 for the 32 GB version, both with new 2 year contracts. You can pre-order the Verizon iPhone 5C from here.
Sprint— Same as Verizon, Sprint is also keeping things pretty simple with the 5C being $99.99 for the 16 GB version or $199.99 for the 32 GB version. You can pre-order the Sprint iPhone 5C from here.
Now beyond the carriers there are a few other places you can pre-order the 5C, like Apple and Walmart.
Apple Store— Always a safe bet if you really want to get the 5C. Apple will begin taking pre-orders for AT&T, Sprint and Verizon versions tonight at the regular 2 year contract prices. You can also pre-order the unlocked/T-Mobile version but that will cost you $549.99 for the 16 GB version or $649.99 for the 32 GB version. You can pre-order from Apple’s site here.
Walmart— If you’re looking for the best price for the 5C and are on Verizon, AT&T or Sprint you’re gonna wanna check out Walmart. Yes, the 5C isn’t out yet but according to CNET Walmart has already dropped the price of it and the iPhone 5S by $20. That means the 16 GB 5C is only $80 with a new 2 year contract and the 16 GB 5S is down to $180 with a new 2 year contract. The current 16 GB iPhone 5 also drops to $98 with a new 2 year contract, if you would rather the 5 design and but don’t want to spend the extra $100 for the 5S. You can pre-order the 5C in your local Walmart stores.
Best Buy and Radio Shack— According to Gizmodo both will be accepting pre-orders for the 5C as well just you’ll need to walk in to them to do it.
And if you’re waiting for the iPhone 5S there will be no pre-orders for this iPhone. If you want one you’ll have to try your luck at the stores above when it comes out on September 20th.
