lifeproof iphone 5 pic 1

Whether you’re going to a beach, skiing in the mountains or just staying at home for Spring Break keeping your iPhone protected is a big deal. The last thing you want is to go somewhere and have your phone break because it accidentally sliped out of your hand. While there are few good cases that offer decent protection for phones from companies like HTC, Samsung, and BlackBerry there aren’t many. The iPhone on the other hand has almost too many cases available.

We have been getting a few questions lately about good, strong cases for the iPhone, particularly for surviving things like a crazy Spring Break. So whether you’re still on Spring Break or are heading back to school, here are a few cases you’re gonna want to check out to make sure your iPhone is always safe.

att 4g networks

As you’ve heard by now, AT&T has this month released their first two phones capable of using their brand new, much faster 4G LTE network. 4G LTE is AT&T’s true 4G network, and looks to really give you all the speed of your home internet wherever you go.

Now we know a lot of you are really confused right now– “didn’t AT&T already have 4G? What about phones like the Atrix 4G, Thrill 4G, and Infuse 4G? Aren’t they 4G?” Well, the answer to that is yes and no– we’ll explain.

The Verizon iPhone, it’s finally here. After years of begging, wishing, praying and waiting the end of AT&T’s exclusive control of Apple’s iconic cell phone has finally come to an end. This is the what people on Verizon have been waiting for years for.

Now don’t get me wrong this is a very big for both Verizon and AT&T– Verizon gets the device everyone’s been waiting for, and AT&T finally gets rid of those people who keep bashing their network (which personally I’m the most excited for. If all these people leave AT&T and they are the ones that constantly are using up data and slowing up the network for the rest of us, it means AT&T should only get better and faster than before); and of course for anyone on any carrier this means even more competition which should hopefully lead to much better phones and plans.

We’ve been receiving a ton of questions recently on whether you should buy an iPhone 4 on Verizon no, and personally, I’d say no. Here’s why.

Ask TeensTalkTech: What Do I Do If My iPod Fell in Water?

ipod in water

TeensTalkTech, my iPod Touch fell in water and now isn’t working. Will my warranty cover this? If not, is there a way I can fix it or is it broken forever? Thanks!

-Hudie B.

Good question Hudie. This actually happens to a lot of people all the time with their iPods and cell phones.

When it comes to water damage (or getting your device wet like accidentally dropping your phone/iPod in water) your standard one year warranty rarely covers it. In your case, the standard one year Apple warranty on an iPod wouldn’t cover you as water damage is something these limited warranties don’t cover (the standard one year warranty usually deals with manufacturing defects like dead pixels or dust under the screen). Even if you got AppleCare (Apple’s extended warranty which pushes the length of the standard warranty from 1 year to 2 and offers additional support options like telephone support past the standard 90 days after purchase, replacing your iPod if the battery dies too quickly, earphones if they break etc.), you would still be out of luck as they too don’t cover water damage. Now if you bought your iPod from a place like Best Buy and got their warranty you may have better luck as theirs does cover accidental water damage, but again, that still depends on when you got your iPod and if that warranty is still in effect.

Don’t get too upset though, we’ve got a few interesting tips on how you might be able to bring this iPod back to life.

iphone jailbreak

What does it mean to “unlock” your iPhone?

Here’s a question we’ve been getting a lot lately: “if I unlock my iPhone will it work for Verizon/Sprint? It should, right, because it’s unlocked?” Sorry anxious reader, just because your iPhone is unlocked doesn’t mean it will work for you on Verizon and Sprint.

Let me explain.
