The Facebook Phone Is Coming Today- Here Are Some Of The Latest Rumors On What We Can Expect
The new Facebook Phone, the HTC First
Later today, Facebook will be holding a big event to showcase their “new home on Android.” While there has been a lot of speculation about what exactly Facebook will show off, thanks to some recent rumors it looks like we now have a pretty good idea. Yes, Facebook isn’t just announcing an update to their Facebook Android app, they also are expected to announce the Facebook phone to go along with it.
Before the event gets underway at 10 AM Pacific Time, here are some of the latest rumors on what we expect Facebook to show off.
Facebook Is Having An Android Event This Week- Could A Facebook Phone Be Coming?
Late last week Facebook sent out invitations for an event at their headquarters teasing a “new home on Android.” As expected the internet is now filled with rumors about a new Facebook phone. While we still have a few days until the April 4th event, here are some of the latest and most interesting rumors about the Facebook phone and what else they might announce.
The HTC One– Everything You Need to Know
Yesterday in New York HTC took the wraps off of their latest and greatest phone, the HTC One. As you can see in the pic above this is one heck of a phone that not just looks great but has some really interesting features too.
The One will be available in March on AT&T, T-Mobile and Sprint, but before that time comes let’s get to what’s new here and why it matters to you.
Temple Run 2 Now Available For iOS, Coming To Android Next Week
One of the most popular and addicting games for the iPhone and iPad has finally gotten a sequel. Yes, today is the day Temple Run 2 hits the App Store, and like the original, it is free to download.
While the idea and controls behind the game are the same, Temple Run 2 brings some much nicer graphics, a new course with new obstacles as well as new power ups and the ability to ride in a cart and zip-line. Oh, and you now will be chased by a “bigger monkey.”
As big fans of the original Temple Run we’ve already downloaded the game on our iPhone 5 and we gotta say, it’s a pretty great update. We really love the new graphics and the new course keeps things challenging. It’s the same great Temple Run we all know and love, just now even better. This should be a great time waster for the spring semester.
Oh, and don’t worry Android users, video game site Polygon talked with Imangi– the creators of the Temple Run games– and Temple Run 2 should be in the Google Play Store and Amazon Appstore next week.
So what are you waiting for? Go download Temple Run 2 from the iTunes App Store and let us know what you think.

CES 2013: Sony Announces Two New Superphones, Meet the Xperia Z and Xperia ZL
Yesterday at CES Sony took the wraps off a whole bunch really cool devices, such as new cameras, new TVs and new phones. And while the new TVs look pretty amazing (they are among the many new TVs at CES that are 4K TVs, or TVs that have four times the amount of pixels as today’s full HD 1080p TVs. We’ll have more on this later), the biggest news for you from Sony’s big CES press event is the announcement of two new superphones, the Xperia Z and Xperia ZL. In short, these phones look great and should rival the Galaxy Note II, Galaxy S III, One X+ and Droid DNA for the title of best Android phone.
Both pack all the top of the line features you would expect in a superphone, including a 1.5 GHZ quad-core processor with 2 GB of RAM for speed, a 5-inch full HD 1080p screen (like the Droid DNA—this looks amazing and is right up with the DNA as the best screens we’ve seen on a phone yet), a 13-megapixel back camera with a 2 megapixel front camera for HD video chat, NFC support for doing things like sharing pictures and videos or playing music off a compatible stereo just by tapping your phone, Android Jelly Bean with pre-loaded apps like PlayStation Mobile for gaming, and of course, 4G LTE support for super fast internet.
Now here’s something really cool about the new Xperia Z in particular—it’s water AND dust resistant. This means you could take this into the shower (as Sony put it) or to the beach and not worry about this breaking from a little water or sand. For a phone as thin and powerful as this one is, this is pretty amazing.
No word yet on price, carriers or release dates just yet, but as soon as we get that info we’ll make sure that you get it too.
Verizon Announces The HTC Droid DNA– This Is The New Top Droid
As expected, Verizon and HTC this announced their latest and greatest superphone, the Droid DNA. There were a lot of crazy rumors about this phone over the last few weeks, and well, it looks to live up to all of them.
At a size that is just slightly larger than the Samsung Galaxy S III, HTC and Verizon have seem to have packed in here everything you could want in a 2012 top of the line smartphone: a quad-core 1.5 GHZ processor with 2 GB of RAM (so everything runs fast and smooth on here), Android 4.1 Jelly Bean with the latest version of HTC Sense, an 8 megapixel back camera with a second 2.1 megapixel front camera for HD video chats, 16 GB of built-in storage (though unfortunately no microSD card slot for adding more), support for NFC (so you can do things like share pictures just by tapping phones) and wireless charging, built-in Beats Audio (with some updates so that your music will sound better even when playing at the maximum volume), and support for Verizon’s 4G LTE network. The greatest part about this phone however is the screen.
The Droid DNA packs an unbelievable 5 inch Full HD 1080p screen. As strongly rumored as this was, that it’s actually here is pretty insane. Basically, this has the same amount of pixels as the average 40-50 inch HDTV, but in this much smaller design. This means that anything and everything– games, pictures, books, Facebook updates, Tweets, text messages– will look absolutely amazing on here.
The Droid DNA will cost $200 when arrives in Verizon stores next Wednesday, November 21st. If you really can’t wait to make this your next phone, you can pre-order it now from Verizon’s site which as of this writing has a promised ship date of Monday, November 19th.

Is Verizon Launching the Droid DNA Tomorrow?
Over the last few weeks there have been a lot of rumors about another new Droid ready to join Verizon’s lineup, the Droid DNA by HTC. And like the most recent new Droids, the Motorola RAZR MAXX and RAZR MAXX HD, this guy looks to be an absolute beast.
Now all we know is that this guy will be called the Droid DNA, and this comes thanks to some promoted tweets from Verizon Wireless’ official Twitter account teasing a big announcement set for this Tuesday. These Verizon tweets also lead to a Droid Does site that yesterday mentioned “unboxing the new Droid DNA” (they have since changed it to just “unboxing the new Droid”).
Of course, what the rumors say about this phone line up perfectly with one other Verizon teaser tweet that this new Droid will “better, stronger, faster.” How much “bigger, stronger and faster?” Well the latest rumors say this beast will have an insane 5 inch full 1080p HD screen (think of this like a bigger, even better version of the iPhone 5’s Retina Display. Basically, this will make anything and everything you do look ridiculous), a 1.5 GHZ quad-core processor with 2 GB of RAM (for speed), 8 megapixel back camera with a 2 megapixel camera on the front for HD video chat, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, and of course, built-in Beats Audio and 4G LTE. This looks to be going right up against the Galaxy Note 2 for the title of best super-sized Android phone on Verizon.
No word on a price or release date (rumors are that it will be out before Thanksgiving possibly for $200 on a new 2 year contract), but we’ll hopefully know all that very soon.
