So Verizon users– you’ve got an upgrade coming up sometime over the next couple of months and while you like some of the phones already out there, you really wanna know what Verizon’s got planned during the next few weeks or months so you don’t go out and buy something only to really regret it a week later. We’re here to help. Verizon Finally Makes The Droid Incredible 2 Official: Coming Tomorrow For $200

droid incredible 2

Want a sick new Droid but don’t want to pay $300 for it? Well, if you’re willing to give up not having Verizon’s blazing fast 4G LTE for the next 2 years there looks to be a pretty awesome alternative to Verizon’s second 4G phone, the Droid Charge, that also just so happens to be launching tomorrow– the next generation of the insanely popular Droid Incredible.

As the rumors a few months ago said, this new Droid Incredible 2 looks to pick up exactly where the first Droid Incredible left off, with a sleek design and powerful specs. We’re talking a bigger 4 inch high-res screen (over the first Droid Incredible’s already nice 3.7 inch), 1 GHZ processor (also an upgrade as this is the latest and great 1 GHZ processor from Qualcomm— the company who makes the processors– so you should expect not just better speed, but better battery life as well), 8 megapixel back camera with flash, face detection and 720p HD video recording AND 1.3 megapixel camera on the front for video chat (which you can do over WiFi), noise cancellation (for better sounding calls). On top of all this runs Android 2.2, but hopefully we’ll see an upgrade to Android 2.3 Gingerbread coming sometime soon after launch (though nothing has been said about this yet).

All in all, at a much more affordable $199.99 with 2 year contract and $29.99 unlimited data plan, Verizon is making sure there is a great new Droid for pretty much anyone— even if this one lacks 4G support (on the bright side though, this will probably get better battery life than the Droid Charge because it doesn’t have that power-sucking 4G chip inside it).

You can pick up a Droid Incredible 2 tomorrow, April 28th, at your local Verizon store or online at Verizon’s site.

Verizon Announces Name, Release Date and Price For Second 4G Phone: The Samsung Droid Charge

Remember the Samsung Android 4G LTE Phone Verizon and Samsung announced back in January when Verizon announced their upcoming group of 4 new 4G LTE phones? Well, today it’s finally gotten a real name, release date and price: the Samsung Droid Charge coming to a Verizon store near you on April 28th (a week from today) for $299.99 with a new 2 year contract a $29.99 unlimited data plan.

So what will that $299.99 get you? A pretty powerful 4G phone with specs like: an awesome 4.3 inch Super AMOLED Plus screen8 megapixel back camera and 1.3 megapixel front camera for higher quality video chatAndroid 2.2 with Swype keyboard and Mobile Hotspot (so you can share your 4G with up to 10 devices. And Verizon is offering this free for a “limited time”), and a 1 GHZ processor (so everything on your phone can keep with that fast 4G awesomeness). No word on the battery life here (Verizon’s first 4G phone– the HTC ThunderBolt— has been said to have pretty bad battery life when on 4G, like only lasting a couple of  hours and not even getting close to a full day bad), but I guess we’ll find that out soon enough.

So Verizon users– are you gonna go with this first 4G Droid as your next phone or are you gonna save the $100 and go with something like a ThunderBolt from Amazon (which offers it for a much more affordable $200 with contract) or 3G-only iPhone 4 instead?
