Looking for the iPhone 5S? Here’s A Site to Help You Find One
Ever since the iPhone 5S came out two weeks ago it’s been nearly impossible to find. Stores sold out of the new high-end iPhone that same day, new shipments since then sell out almost as soon as they arrive, and online orders say not to expect the phone for a least a couple more weeks (or possibly months if you’re looking for the gold 5S). The online Apple Store isn’t even giving a date for when you can expect you’re iPhone to be delivered, saying the very general “October” as opposed to the usual, more specific 1-2 days or 2-3 weeks. These things are really hard to find.
Developer Mordy Tikotzky has a solution. He created a website called iPhone-Check that let’s you quickly and easily see if you’re local Apple Store has it in stock. And while many other places sell the 5S, Apple Stores usually are the ones that get the most stock in. All you have to do is enter your zip code, pick what color and carrier you want. That’s it. You’ll then see a list of the nearby Apple Stores with green checks of the sizes they have in stock and red Xs for the ones they don’t.
These phones are selling out really quickly so wherever you plan on going to we still recommend calling ahead to make sure they have it (or to see if they can possibly put one aside for you), but this is great, quick and easy way to find Apple Stores with the iPhone 5S in stock.
But good luck trying to find that gold one, no one seems to be able to keep any of them in stock.

Where to Get The iPhone 5S on Friday
The iPhone 5C went on pre-order last week, iOS 7 came out today and BBM hits the iPhone this weekend but for iPhone users the biggest thing to happen this week is the launch of the iPhone 5S this Friday. The 5S is the most fastest, most powerful iPhone yet with an even better camera and really cool fingerprint scanner called Touch ID and for many is the iPhone to upgrade to. Well, if the 5C isn’t for you and you’re ready to upgrade to the 5S here’s what you need to know to pick it up on launch day.
Unlike the 5C, there were no pre-orders for the 5S and rumors are that supply on Friday will be very low. There are rumors floating around that supply issues is why Apple didn’t put it up for pre-order, they want to make they had enough ready to go on launch day (note: Apple usually sells millions of iPhones during launch weekend and they probably have millions ready for the 5S they just wanted to be extra cautious here). Anyways, if you want that new 5S right away here’s where you can grab it.
iPhone 5C Pre-Order: All The Details
The iPhone 5C goes on pre-order tonight at around 3:01 AM Eastern Time (or 12:01 AM for those on the West Coast). All the major carriers will sell the iPhone 5C and all will be taking pre-orders starting tonight. If you’ve been waiting for the 5C here are all the details on where you can pre-order one of the newest iPhones.
iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C: What’s New and What You Need To Know
As you’ve heard, this week Apple unveiled not one but two new iPhones, the long rumored iPhone 5C and iPhone 5S. From all the rumors and leaks it seems that we’ve seen everything with these phones months ago but this week Apple made it all official.
Both the iPhone 5S and 5C go on sale next Friday (and the 5C is available for pre-order tomorrow), but to help you decide on which iPhone is right for you we’ve rounded up everything that’s new and what you need to know about in each phone below.
Here We Go: Apple Sends Out Invite For An iPhone Event Next Week
It’s been rumored for months and the date was leaked a few weeks ago but now it’s all official. Apple this afternoon sent out invites for an event next week where they are expected to announce two new iPhones, the iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C.
The iPhone 5S is said to be the successor to the iPhone 5 and have a similar design with a faster processor, larger battery, 13 megapixel camera with improved flash, and a fingerprint sensor in the home button. The 5S is also said to come in a gold/”champagne” color in addition to the usual white or black.

The iPhone 5C is a cheaper iPhone that is said to be replacing the iPhone 4S at the bottom of Apple’s line-up. It will be made of plastic instead of the aluminum the 5 and 5S are made of, but will come in a wide range of colors including yellow, pink, light green, light blue and white. Yes, the same colors as the ones seen on the dots on the Apple invite above. The 5C is said to have many of the iPhone 5/5S’s features like running iOS 7 and having a 4 inch Retina display, but it won’t have all the newest parts like the faster processor, 13 megapixel camera and fingerprint scanner. Then again, since it’s supposed to be several hundred dollars cheaper than the 5S we wouldn’t expect it to.
Both the iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C are expected to be released about 10 days after Apple’s event, on September 20th.
There are also rumors that Apple might use this event to update the iPad, iPad Mini and MacBook Pro but most expect those to be updated in October as Apple has done in the past. Whatever Apple does announce though you know we’ll have it covered for you here.

All Things D: The Next iPhone Will Be Announced On September 10th
Get ready because it’s that time of year again. No, not the end of summer or returning of school, but time for a new iPhone. Over the past few years Apple has held events in September to announce their newest iPhone. In 2011 it was for the 4S and last year it was for the 5. If these latest reports from All Things D are true (and they have been in the past) then mark down September 10th as that will apparently be the day that Apple reveals their next iPhone, the iPhone 5S/6.
Now what exactly will be in the next iPhone is anyone’s guess at this point. Most expect the next iPhone to be faster and have a better camera than the iPhone 5, but beyond that the rumors are really all over the place– from a fingerprint sensor, to a bigger screen to more colors beyond black and white. And of course there are a lot of rumors on if the name of this next iPhone will be the iPhone 5S or if it will have a big enough upgrade to go straight to iPhone 6.
The rumored, more colorful, iPhone 5C
On top of all that there is also a lot of talk about Apple coming out with a new plastic, cheaper and more colorful iPhone called the “iPhone 5C” in addition to the new iPhone 5S/6. The iPhone 5C is said to have an 8-megapixel camera, 4-inch Retina Display and cost $300-$400 without a contract (by comparison the 16 GB iPhone 5 starts at $650 without a contract, which would mean that this new iPhone would most likely be free or at the most $100 with a new 2-year contract). We’re sure that the rumors on both of these iPhones will only get crazier as we get closer to September 10th and we’ll make sure to keep you updated. One thing we do expect any new iPhone to have however is iOS 7, the next, redesigned version of iOS.
So get ready. The countdown to the next iPhone begins now.
