Looking for a new BlackBerry on Sprint but aren’t impressed with the new Bold 9930 or Torch 9850? Well, then you may want to check out this brand new Curve. This new Curve 9350 brings a lot of the updates of the new Bold and Torch lines but at a much better price: $79.99 with new 2 year contract and data plan.
And if you’re a fan of the Curve line you’re really going to like what Sprint and BlackBerry have done here. This new Curve 9350 is without a question the best BlackBerry Curve yet with features like: an improved 2.44 inch touchscreen above that great BlackBerry keyboard (it’s a higher resolution screen which means that everything from BBM’s to Facebook to websites will look really nice on here. And like the Bold 9930 the screen is now multitouch so you can do things like pinch-to-zoom in the browser), 800 MHZ processor with 512 MB of RAM (so things here don’t just look good but are much faster too), 5 megapixel camera with HD video recording (like the other new BlackBerrys there is no front camera here), and the latest BlackBerry 7 OS. All in all, this looks to be a great upgrade to the Curve line and an excellent choice for Sprint users who want a good BlackBerry but don’t want to pay $200 for a Bold.
The Curve 9350 will be available for Sprint users beginning September 9th. For more info on the new Curve, check out BlackBerry’s site here.
It looks like Verizon wasn’t the only one with new BlackBerry news to share today, and if you’re on Sprint and anxiously waiting for that awesome new Bold 9930 or Torch 9850 you’re wait for both is almost over. Sprint has today confirmed that both the new Bold and the new Torch will be launching next Sunday, August 21st, for the expected prices of $250 (Bold) and $150 (Torch) with a new 2 year contract and data plan. Everything else on these new BlackBerrys is pretty much the same as we heard two weeks ago, and for those looking for the full breakdown of what’s new in these new Sprint BlackBerry’s see our previous post here.
So Sprint users what’s it gonna be: new Bold or new Torch for back-to-school?
Release Dates and Prices For Sprint’s BlackBerry Bold 9930 and Torch 9850 Leak– Are Both Coming Out On The 21st?
While T-Mobile and AT&T haven’t given any word on when their new BlackBerrys will be launching (and Verizon hasn’t even officially confirmed which new BlackBerrys they’ll be getting– though we think we know one of them), it looks like Sprint will be the first to launch their new BlackBerry 7 phones. And just in time for you to get it before school starts too.
According to this latest leaked Sprint document on BGR (a site that we all know knows their BlackBerry leaks), Sprint will be releasing both their new Torch 9850 and Bold 9930 in about nine days, August 21st, for $149 and $249 respectively (with the usual new 2 year contract and data plan). If true– and we believe it very well may be as the release dates line up with some earlier rumors about the new BlackBerrys’ launch dates– this is pretty solid news for Sprint users.
Sure we think the 3G-only Bold 9930 is a bit expensive at $249 (even if it otherwise looks to be the best BlackBerry yet), and we’re not sure the Torch is worth nearly the same price as the more powerful and 4G capable Motorola Photon or HTC EVO 3D, but who knows– since Sprint or RIM haven’t actually confirmed any of this maybe they’ll bring the price down to the much more tempting $200 and $100 respectively (and if they don’t, maybe someone like Amazon or Best Buy will do it instead).
We’re obviously gonna keep searching for more on this, but if you’re on Sprint and want a new BlackBerry for the upcoming school year we really think you’re gonna want to wait a few more days to see if this becomes official.
