Samsung Infuse 4G Makes Appearance in Walmart Ad– Release Coming This Week?

We know a lot of you are very eager to learn more about AT&T’s third 4G phone, the Samsung Infuse 4G, and we’ve got some good news for you: it’s almost here. That pic you see above? That’s Walmart advertising the Infuse 4G for a very solid $178.88 on two-year contract with data plan alongside a nice little sticker saying it’s coming May 2011 (click on pic to enlarge). Clicking on the pic of the Infuse 4G on Walmart’s site (it’s on page 9 in the ad) brings up a pop-up– shown below– listing the already familiar specs of the Infuse 4G (8 megapixel camera, 4.5 inch Super AMOLED screen and 1.2 GHZ processor) and a note that it’s available in most stores. Well, we called up a couple of local Walmarts and while they told us they don’t currently have the Infuse 4G in stock, they said they should have them in by the end of this week.

And just to add a little more fuel to the fire here, AT&T and Samsung have sent out invites today for an event this Thursday, May 5th in New York City (though what exactly will be announced at this event is still unknown). Unfortunately we won’t be able to make it out to this event in person, but don’t worry, we’ll have whatever is announced covered for you right here.

So hang tight Infuse 4G fans, it’s almost here.

Would You Buy an iPhone 3G for $99?

iPhone 3G only $99?

Times are tough and the holiday season is fast approaching, so we expect a lot of bargain deals to hit the shelves in order to lure customers.

This deal (its actually a RUMORED deal), however, we did not see coming. As you saw in the title, the deal is an iPhone 3G for only $99 on a 2 year contract! Yup, all that sweet multi-touch, 3G, App Store, GPS and iPhone goodness for under a Benjamin, an offer so cheap because it is coming from Walmart, who are well-known for their great deals and cheaper prices. One major drawback to the deal: only 4 GB of memory (this stinks, we know).

Hey, you can’t have everything 😉 , and if you plan on using your iPhone as an iPod as well, then this may not be the choice for you (4 GB is not a lot- maybe a couple movies or about 1,000 songs). We also assume you would still need to sign up for the $70 a month AT&T iPhone plan (only $30 a month if you’re adding to a family plan, as I found out when I went to an AT&T store a couple weeks ago) or some equivalent phone plan that perhaps will be cheaper per month because of the cheaper price of the phone.

But we just gotta ask- is this something you see yourself getting for the holidays assuming this is all true, and that Walmart gets this out the door soon (as in, before the end of the year)? Would you rather pay the extra $100-$200 to get an 8 GB or 16 GB? Or just ditch the iPhone all together and go for a phone like the Blackberry Bold, Pantech Matrix, Samsung Propel or other AT&T phone?  Let us know in the comments.

Remember: all of this is still a rumor at this point (though Walmart will be selling the standard iPhone 3G sometime soon).

Save $100 on a PS3 this Weekend at Walmart

walmart-november-8-deals

Walmart ad for this weekend sale

Wanted an 80 GB PS3 but the price was keeping you away? Run down to your local Walmart and pick one up this weekend, because although the PS3 won’t receive a price cut this holiday season (Sony already said no to the idea), you can get a $100 gift card when your purchase the 80 GB system for $399 over the weekend.

One major catch you should be aware of: this offer is in-store only (or so we know) and starts on Saturday at 8 am (yup for those of you who really– and we mean really — want this, you’ll need to get up pretty early).

$100 off a HD video game system which doubles as a Blu-Ray player is pretty good deal, but remember: for those who don’t want to give up their weekend to wait in line for this deal, I’m pretty sure there will be many other price cuts for all of the video game systems (including the Xbox 360 and Wii) in the very near future as Black Friday– the major sales day following Thanksgiving– and the holiday season approaches.

What you think- are you going out this weekend to pick up for yourself a PS3, or more interested in going for a Xbox 360 or a Wii? Oh, and feel free to check out the other weekend deals in the ad and let us know if your interested in any of ’em.
